The Northwest Franklin
County Historical Society and Museum was incorporated November 11,
1966. The society's main objective was to create a historical
village and museum which would preserve the early pioneer life of
the community of Hilliards, Ohio, and the northwest section of
Franklin County. The society was given a lease of a part of
Weaver Park on which to build a museum and establish a historical
village.
The founding
trustees of the society were:
Basil L.
Johnson, President
Eldon M.
Schatz, Vice President
Mildred Hart,
Treasurer
Mary W.
Miller, Secretary
Raymond K.
Bradley
James D.
Knick
Richard L.

Delmar J.

Ruth E. Mast
Lester F.
Porter.
The village contains a
large museum, a covered bridge (replica), and a gazebo. These
were built by the society, the city of Hilliard, and the county.
There are nine other buildings which were moved to the village and
each is a small museum relating to its function in the community and
the surrounding area.
